A New Chapter
As many of you know, in the spring of 2015 we decided we needed to cut down on the work load that falls during the spring here at Hawks Angus. We had the opportunity to sell some of our registered cattle. We kept back enough cows to be able to keep 30 of the TOP end bulls that we will be selling private treaty. We will be pricing the bulls anywhere from $2500 up to $4500.
Our feeding program has remained with the same feed rations and the bulls have performed well with the extremely cold winter weather. We weighed them on February 20th and they averaged 1148lbs.
Please feel free to contact us, ask questions, and come and take a look. We look forward to continue providing great quality bulls to some very good commercial cattlemen.
We are looking forward to hearing and seeing you soon!

About Hawks Angus
Hawks Angus is a family owned and operated ranch located in North Central Montana. The ranch is nestled away on the east side of an area called the "Sweet Grass Hills".
Back in 1941 Adrian’s Grandfather, Clarence Hawks purchased some of the first Black Angus heifers in the area. Since that time the Hawks’ have raised commercial Angus cows until the mid-1980. At this time Adrian and Janet began to build a registered herd with the philosophy to breed cattle for quiet, workable dispositions, to be easy fleshing with natural thickness, and have tight udders, while being moderately framed.
Adrian and Janet have 3 children, Kimberly, Kari and Cory. All have been participants in our operation but after the girls attended college and got married they took different paths. Cory on the other hand, along with his wife Belinda, has joined the operation. They purchased the ranch next door and now Hawks Angus runs 300 head of registered cattle along with a small grain operation. They are also proud parents of the 3rd generation Hawks Angus with the birth of their son Jaxon Adrian.
Our cow herd runs on native grass and our calves are not given creep feed. After weaning we develop the calves at the ranch using a high roughage diet. For many years we held an annual bull sale in March at the family place north of Galata. We have since cut back on our numbers but have retained our top quality mother cows. We will be offering yearling bulls by private treaty. We still focus on balanced traits, fertility, longevity, good udders and good dispositions. We have always tried to raise cattle that will work for the commercial cattleman.
We are looking forward to greeting old friends and meeting many new ones. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about our operation.
